Tips For Filling Up Gasoline

This is an advice from the expert on How not to lose money at the petrol stations especially when petrol prices are sky rocketing!

Read it and take action to start saving the next time you go to the petrol station:

I've been in the petroleum pipeline business for about 31 years, currently working for the Kinder-Morgan Pipeline here in San Jose, CA. We deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period from the pipe line; one day it's diesel, the next day it's jet fuel and gasoline. We have 34 storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons. Here are some tricks to help you get your
money's worth.

1. Fill up your car or truck in the morning when the temperature is still cool. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground; and the colder the ground, the denser the gasoline. When it gets warmer gasoline expands, so if you're filling up in the afternoon or in the evening, what should be a gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and temperature of the fuel (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products) are significant. Every truckload that we load is temperature-compensated so that the indicated gallonage is actually the amount pumped. A one-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for businesses, but service stations don't have temperature compensation at their pumps.

2. If a tanker truck is filling the station's tank at the time you want to buy gas, do not fill up; most likely dirt and sludge in the tank is being stirred up when gas is being delivered, and you might be transferring that dirt from the bottom of their tank into your car's tank.

3. Fill up when your gas tank is half-full (or half-empty), because the more gas you have in your tank the less air there is and gasoline evaporates rapidly, especially when it's warm. (Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating 'roof' membrane to act as a barrier between the gas and the atmosphere, thereby minimizing evaporation.)

4. If you look at the trigger you'll see that it has three delivery settings: slow, medium and high. When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to the high setting. You should be pumping at the slow setting, thereby minimizing vapours created while you are pumping. Hoses at the pump are corrugated; the corrugations act as a return path for vapour recovery from gas that already has been metered. If you are pumping at the high setting, the agitated gasoline contains more vapour, which is being sucked back into the underground tank so you're getting less gas for your money.

Hope this will help ease your 'pain at the pump'.

Jay Chou and Yu Hao Piano Duet

I always thought that piano are meant to be classical. Until I watch the movie "The Secret" of Jay Chou. The piano battle in the movie demostrated to me that piano can be fun too. It got me interested and so I went online to search for other piece of work by Jay. And I found this. It was awesome!!! Beautiful piece of music including a classic surprise for gamer fans. Talented Jay, isnt he?

Bekok 2007

It has been a long time since I last went for a ride up north. Especially after I sold my Africa Twin and got a KSR. But as a reward for myself, Since I had finish my last paper, I had decided to go for a ride to Bekok with Moto-V Riders.

Although it was just a one day trip and it may seems nothing to many; But to me, it was a dream reborn. I have been itching for a ride. Haha...

I hereby thank Moto-V's Alan for organising this trip, and for letting me tagged along. They must had a hard time waiting for me at each pit stop. Cause I am S-L-O-W!!!!! I also thank all those who went for the trip for their kind patience. :)

Here are the photos of this ride, some of which was taken by Moto-V Alan. :)

Super Import Nights

8/11/01 - 11/11/07
Singapore Expo Hall 5

Here's a clip I made. ENJOY!!

The reason this car show is called Super Import Nights is beacuse they imported models from USA to be in this car show. So I was wondering if this is really about the cars or the babes from the states.

Hot Imported models dancing:

More Drifting actions:

Anyway, I went for this car show for 2 reasons. 1 is to see the drifting, 2 is to see KT SO, one of the imported models. I first came to know about KT SO in 2004/2005 when I was still riding my R1. At that time, she did a photo shoot for R1 and it was like WAH!! But as soon as she went for a boob job and make her boobs so big (and fake), I kinda lost interest in her. Nevertheless, since she was in town, why not just take the chance to see her in person.

Here are some of her photos with the R1 taken back in 2004/2005.

Please dont ask me why is she washing herself and the bike at the same time. I do not know. Maybe she wanna save time.

Anyway, despite the imported models, I still feel that this is the best looking model. Thats why she is the only one whom I took a shot with.

Singapore Senior Citizen Being Bullied!!!

I really dont know how could someone do this to an old man.

This rickshaw uncle is already 60 over years old and sad to say, he still have to work for a liviing. And in order to make more money, he agreed to ride these 3 tourists. 3 young big size guys. Taking into consideration of his old age and the weight of 3 big size guys, his own weight and the riskshaw's weight, definately he will be going SLOW. Even if its a young man cycling, it can be quite tedious too.

But instead of paying the rickshaw uncle the agreed price, they went back on their words and short-changed him. They even made fun of him throughout the ride. Poor rickshaw uncle, not being able to understand english, still thinks that they were happy cause they were enjoying the ride. But NO!!!! They were making fun of him. One of the guy even scolded him FU*K.

In the end, they hailed a cab and went off. Uploaded the clip onto YouTube. They thought it is funny, but hell no. They got lots feedbacks and comments from people all over the world. Even our NewPaper has a report on them. Thats how I got to know about it.

SHAME ON THEM!!!!

Here is the video and the link to the bully's youtube account. Give him a piece of your mind there if you want to. Post him a comment. Let him know how wrong he is.
