Day 224: Germany (Dussedolf)

Date: 13 April 2009

Like last morning, I did the Anapana meditation (www.dhamma.org)(Vipasana) with Maarten. After which, he sent me off to the train station on the Africa Twin. On the way, we rode passed the quiet and cool town. I felt a sense of peace. It reminds me of riding in the mountians of China and Northern Thailand. I love this feeling and I miss the nature.

Then we bided goodbye to each other. Although I was Watching him leaving on his motorcycle, I somehow feel that this will not be the last time we meet. I am sure our path will crossed again. Only god knows when.

The train which took me from Netherlands into Germany was really good and informative. You will not get lost or miss your seat. Details were everywhere! :)

Within hours, I got into this town in Germany called, Dusseldorf. Well, it is not a very famous town like Frankfurt but still, it is nice enough. I am here just to spend a day and then I am going to catch an evening flight to SCOTLAND!!

Well, my visit to Dusseldorf was alittle disappointing because its easter monday and everything was closed. I even had the whole road to myself.

Just as I was scrolling down the empty and quiet streets, I chanced upon this status which reminde me of a friend which I made in Lithuania.

Looks like him or not?

Hmmm... Being in a quiet street is not a bad thing after all. At least I have it all by myself.

Then I begin to wonder what am I travelling for. What is the prupose of my travel. I have been rushing from places to places to see as much as I can for the past few weeks. Its time to slow things down and to enjoy my travel.

Just as I was enjoying my quiet moment, a protest broke the slience.

Then as the day went by, more and more people got up and gathered along the river front. Thats the only place where you can find life!!!

Then it was time to fly. I paid a visit to the toilet in the airport and when I saw this in the toilet, it left me in doubt. Why is there a need for a condom selling machine? This is not a pub or club. Its a airport for goodness seek!!!

Then I proceed to check it. Forgetting about the restrictions on carrying liquid stuffs onboard, I was told to buy these plastic bags from a machine to contain my liquid things and that, left me with tons of heavy coins as I do have have small change. :(

And I got to Edinburgh, Scotland at night. More fun coming up!!!
