Day 118: Ice Fishing

Date: 28 DEC 2008

GOOD MORNING! The sleep in the igloo was cold but great!!

Photobucket

Breakfast. Notice the tube thingy? They have lots of food that comes out from a tube in Northern Europe. For example, cheese, bacon, mayo, mustard. It is kind of handy. I like it.

Photobucket

Then after breakfast, we had more arctic activities. We went Ice Fishing!! Taina own so big a piece of land that they even have their own lake and a fishing cottage. So first thing to do for ice fishing is to find a nice spot and start drilling a hole.

Photobucket

Ok, it's through.

Photobucket

Then move the drill up and down a few times to clear away any ice around it.

Photobucket

And thats my fishing hole!

Photobucket

Here's a video of how to drill a hole by Suripya.

And thats her hole.

Photobucket

And so we all drill our own fishing hole.

Photobucket

There is only one rule to Ice Fishing, dont drill your hole very close to the other person. You dont want the ice to crack into a huge hole dont you? And so we are fairly spread out.

Photobucket

Once you got your hole, you will now have to grab a worm,

Photobucket

and eat it.

Photobucket

No I am kidding. You will have to put the worm on the fish hook ofcourse.

Photobucket

DONE.

Photobucket

Now we are all ready to fish.

Photobucket

Photobucket

After awhile, we decided to just leave it as it was as we got tired of standing there.

Photobucket

Meanwhile, Taina already got the fire set up for us and so we went over for some warm.

Photobucket

We told her that none of us caught any fishes and she said she know. This was not the time of the year where there will be fishes in this area. But nevertheless she still brought us here to ice fish as she knows that it was be a fun experience for all of us. How sweet of her!!

So we sat around the fire and began heating up some food which she brought along. Here are the pictures taken.

Then Supriya decided to do a snow angel.

But she managed to break free

Photobucket

How about acting stupid??

Photobucket
