Day 58: Karakol

It is interesting to note that instead of sugar or milk, the krygyz add jam to their tea instead. I also gave it a try. Hmmm..... not bad....

Anerbek is a student but he does not goes to school everyday. I asked him the reason behind it. And this is what he told me, " There is no point going to school as the teachers might not come to teach at all." Interesting reply. Then I found out that because of the poor environment, the teachers does not earn must from the school. So they will have to work on their farms at times in order to secure 3 meals a day. It is really sad to hear this as without proper education, the situation will never improve. Hopefully the government will do something about the education system soon.

So throughout the whole day, he brought me around karakol. We went to visit the Przewalski Meusum (Przewalski is a great explorer as well as the founder of Karakol) and the War world II memorial park etc.
