Day 81: The Other Side Of Kharkiv

Woke up in the morning and breakfast was already waiting for me. How sweet of Nataliia. Looking out of her kitchen's window, I saw that the sky was turning dark and soon it began raining.

But the rain did not damper our mood to go out. Nataliia's not working and so she decided to bring me out. However, before we did that, I gave her a small gift for a new friendship found. Its a friendship band. So here is Nataliia picking out her favourite colour.

So where exactly were we going? Well, according to her, we are going to a place where travel guidebooks do not tell you, a place where only the local goes to, a favourite place of her. And so I followed her. Although we had muddy road below and dull grey sky above, the colour of these cable cars brighten up our day.

Just take a look at our smiling faces and you will know that I am not lying.

And as we walked, we entered a park.

A smiling face in the mud reminds us that no matter what happens, we have to keep our smile on and the tough gets going.

Soon our walk turned into a run. Ready, Get Set, GO!!

And we were back in the city in no time. Nataliia pointed out something interesting about this building but I cant remember what is it now.

Anyway, we went for some ice cream at her favourite shop since childhood days and then she brought me to another interesting place which lies in the city. A hidden treasure. A place where few would go.

It is this abandoned building.

Nataliia told me that she used to come here very often, be it alone or with friends. And she also said that there was once when she bought a friend here and something supernatural actually happened to her friend. That was one eerie encounter.

Going up stairs.

We ended up on the rooftop. Well, it was actually the top floor without the roof. Natallia told me that she like to come here because it is quiet and she felt connected to this building. She can sit here alone and spend many hours looking at the landscape of the city. As for the ghost, she said that it meant no harm if you dont distrub it.

Well, she is one kind of a girl isn't she? How many girls in Singapore would want to or even dare to go to an abandoned building and spend many hours there? Nataliia is quite different. Through talking to her I can tell that she has her own set of view on things too.

As it was getting dark, we decided that we should leave. Moreover, I had a train to catch. As we were walking down the stairs, we hear some noise and saw something walked pass very quickly. Whats that?

Photobucket

Oh its a cat.

Photobucket

And so she took the cat with her as we left the building. This is how the building looks like from the outside.

Soon its time to bid goodbye. I left Kharkiv on an express train back to Kiev. And when I reached Kiev, I went back to Anna's place again. My main pack is still there, remember?
