Day 34: The Furthest Place Away On Earth From An Ocean

For your information, Urumqi is the furthest place away on earth from an ocean.

Was surprise to see a girl lying on the bed opposite of mine as I truly remembered a guy sleeping there last night.

Went for breakfast with one chinese guy who also stayed in the same room as me. He was very kind to treat to breakfast. Then I went ot the train station to get a ticket for Kazakhstan but the counter was closed on sunday. I had to come back again tomorrow. Which means that I cannot go to TianChi as planned.

Photos taken at the train station and around.

I went to visit the Grand Bazzar in the afternoon with a chinese lady I met in the hostel. Had lunch. Local specility, Pilof (Shou3 Zua1 Fan4) which means eating rice with hand because they eat it with hands, no utensils.

Here, being very close to Russia, I realised that the people also look more European than Asian. They dont really look like Chinese. They belong to the Wei2 Zhu2 (Wei Tribe).

After the Grand Bazzar, we took a bus to the city center. The bus was really crowded but surprising there was an empty seat which noone sits. Why? We walked over and the answer was lying on the chair staring right at us.

Well, crap. Who would put that on a chair in the bus? Well anyway, we saw another mini bazzar and decided to take a walk there too.

Then back at the hostel, I spent 4-5hours talking to different travellers and accquired alot of useful travel information. One of them is this lady. She is Russian.
